Savarona was designed by William Francis Gibbs, the American maritime engineer of the time, and built in 1931 for Ms. Emily Roebling. Savarona was purchased by the Turkish government in 1938 after being swept across the Atlantic Ocean and Mediterranean waters for seven years and allocated to Mustafa Kemal Ataturk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey. Savarona uses a total of 260 tonnes of polished marble, including 65 tonnes of baths, and produces Titiz Marble baths, Turkish baths and spa sections. Savarona’s project was based on the historical significance of a design language that overlaps with the concept of a yacht.
